WATCH: Sneaker Review: Air Jordan Retro 1 High OG ‘Banned’ – Purchase Links #Banned

Jordan Brand brings back the classic Air Jordan 1 Banned colorway, which debuted in 1985. This Air Jordan 1 is notably known as the shoe that cost Nike $5,000 for violating the league’s uniform code.

Michael kind of threw the rules out on how you were supposed to play the game. The shoe kind of threw the rules out on what a basketball shoe was supposed to look like. People who weren’t even into basketball found out about the shoe and it became this catalyst for where we are today.

The Air Jordan 1 set the tone for Jordan’s future, and his eponymous brand, transcending the court and finding favor across a broad spectrum of society

This Air Jordan 1 receives the traditional “Banned” aka “Bred” color scheme of Black and Red that’s built with a full premium leather upper and rests atop a clean White midsole and Red rubber outsole. Some of the notable features to this release includes ‘Nike Air’ branding on the tongue and will not include the ‘X’ detailing on the heel that was seen on the original “Banned” release from 2011.
